What the war in Ukraine teaches us about public support for vigilantism
As found in one of the studies in today's Crime Research Update
Hello! I'm Aaron Jacklin, and this is The Art of Explaining Crime, an independent newsletter that helps you think and write about crime.
Programming Note: No tip sheets were published Tuesday through Thursday due to illness. To balance that out, I’ve gathered all of the research that would have been published those days into this tip sheet. Additionally, I’ve made the tip sheet free to read, though I present it as is. The volume of studies (around 50) mean that while I’ve read it over, the chances I missed a miscategorization are higher than for a normal post.
Use this tip sheet to help you integrate the latest research into your work. It's a directory of new crime research published by the academic journals that I monitor. The directory includes, for example, this study listing:
Determinants of public support for vigilantism in pre-war and wartime Ukraine
Journal: European Journal of Criminology
Keywords: corruption, police, policing
First author: Oleksii Serdiuk (Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, Ukraine) [+2 other authors]
You’ll find more listings for today’s new research below.

The research listings for today's research are sorted by two broad categories: crime type and criminal justice/legal system stage. Research that doesn’t get sorted into those categories follows under “Unsorted Research.”
