Pre-launch special
Become a paid subscriber, but don't pay until after the January 2024 launch. Plus some grace.
I’ve enabled paid subscriptions for Explaining Crime, even though I’m not launching until next month (January 2024).
I can hear the head scratching. I get it. Why pay for something that hasn’t started yet? In your position, I wouldn’t want to become a paid subscriber yet either.
However, who wants to wait and risk forgetting or missing the launch messages?
So how about this: A 60-day free trial for anyone who redeems it before the end of the year?
That way, you can become a paid member now without actually paying until sometime after I launch in January.
Here’s why I’m doing this:
Everyone who becomes a paid member and takes advantage of this offer is showing me they’re more than a little interested in this project I believe in.
That validates the idea, which is important to me (and my family, who indulges my belief in this project).
Even if someone plans to cancel when their free trial ends, I have more opportunities to provide compelling and useful content that I believe will persuade them to stay on.
But why would you do it? After all, I’m still not launching until January. Here’s why I think you should:
You’re reading this, so you’re already a little interested in getting help explaining crime to your audience through daily (M-F), curated lists of new research, the weekly What I Do series, tutorials, and more.
I may be launching next month, but I’ll be publishing beta content this month to get ready for next.
If you’re interested in Explaining Crime, you want to help me validate the idea quickly so I can justify pouring my energy into it.
So, go ahead and click that purple button below. The offer is only available this month.
