Explaining Crime is hitting the pause button until 2026
Jan. 5, 2026, is the intended return date
Hey everyone,
This post takes the form of a letter because I feel the need for a more personal touch after many months of template-driven posts.
You may have noticed that the publication cadence has slowed. That’s because I’ve been dealing with health issues that I’ve written about elsewhere, but won’t get into now. Working out the balance between the writing I do here (and elsewhere) and taking care of my health is an ongoing issue.
That’s a big part of why I’m hitting pause on Explaining Crime. I need some time to regroup and take care of the rest of my life. I intend to be back the first full week of January 2026.
If you have a paid subscription, your billing pauses too and will begin again where it leaves off when we come back in the New Year.
