[beta] Your First Five Crime Studies of December 27
Today's crime studies include work on immigrant arrest rates under Trump
Explaining Crime doesn’t launch for another week or so, but I thought I’d tease the kind of content you’ll get Monday through Friday: Your First Five, a curated list of five new crime studies.
Best,
Aaron
These new criminology and criminal justice studies were published recently by journals I monitor.
1. Did Immigrant Arrest Rates Change During the Trump Administration? Evidence From California and Texas, published in Crime & Delinquency.
2. Effect of conditional release on violent and general recidivism: A causal inference study, published in Journal of Experimental Criminology.
3. Explaining Male Sex Offender Recidivism: Accounting for Differences in Correctional Supervision, published in Sexual Abuse.
4. Adolescent Psychopathic Traits, Early Adversity, and Intimate Partner Violence, published in Criminal Justice and Behavior.
5. A Qualitative Exploration of Shifts to Community Supervision Work During the COVID-19 Pandemic, published in Criminal Justice and Behavior.
I might cover some of these studies further in Understanding Crime. If one sounds interesting or important, let me know in the comments. Right now, I'm considering number 4.
